   Saturday's Agenda         

This page provides information for Saturday (Aug 31th 2002) TDI Fest 2002 days event. That day events will all be held at the Mid Michigan Motorplex  in Stanton MI. We will have the use of the drag strips track up until 2:30 PM for TDI Fest activities. Then normal racing activities begins at the track and we (the TDI's group) become one of the racing classes. The track will also have open food facilities and restrooms for our all day use.
                               *** Please note NO Alcoholic Beverages allowed on the premises ***

The following is a run down of the days events.

• Gates Open @ 8:00am, an entry fee $12.00 per person will be charged!
  Please note this $12.00 fee is an all day event fee and your hand will be stamped so you can come and go at will. The all day fee is intended to provide admits to all events during the day and the night drag racing. We will also  be charged a small fee ($4.00per person)  for the use of the air conditioned spectator box above the burn out box!
• Technical Session. Setup of cars under the tower on the start line will be @ 8:00am and run until 1:30pm
  Hopefully we will have enough volunteers to perform  all the maintenance items listed below. This is intended as a install/ maintenance seminar and possible mock up where needed due to time restraints.  We would like volunteers at the track at 8:00 am to  have their respective items setup and staged early. The following are examples of some of the basic maintenance  items we would like to cover:
            -Timing  belt change, Geoff Williams (gewilli)
             -Oil changes,   Volunteer - ????????
          -Brake job,  Simon Saraga (cyman73)
          -Injection  timing adjustments,   Volunteer-Pete Baranko (Drivviwire)
          -Demo of the making bio-diesel, Volunteer-Joe Rappa (JoeRappa) & Ron Cascio (RC) 
          -Diesel engine running on a stand from home brew bio diesel, 
                                                             Volunteer- Joe Rappa (JoeRappa) & Ron Cascio (RC)
          -Intake manifold removal and cleaning on a Passat.,  Jonathan Barlett  
          -By-Pass filter install and explain it operation. Volunteer-???????
          -Short Shifter Kit install,   Volunteer -Tdi Ray (Ray Scharlott)
          -Ecode headlight install, Volunteer-???????
         -Steel skid plate install,  Possibly Ripster, MichTDI, or Hondo
          -Any other suggested items...........
• Car Show in the adjacent parking area starts at 9:30am and will end before 1:30pm
  We will need 5 volunteers to be judges for the car show event. We will be presenting car show winners a  first and second place trophy for each category (Golf,  Beetle, Jetta and Passat) at the banquet. 

AT 2:30pm all event must be cleaned up and off the track so it can be returned to the track officials so time trails/racing  can begin!

• Time trials for racers start at 3:00pm. All racers will be charged a $20.00 entry fee for racing their car.      
  We are in the street class and it will be the last to get on the track.  Racer will be given 3 runs as trial runs. Then a run off will begin and we will run down through all TDI's until we determine the fastest TDI.  We will be presenting a trophy for the fastest all around TDI and trophies for each category  (Golf,  Beetle, Jetta, Passat and stock tdi) at the banquet.
