The Michigan Steering Committee for TDI FEST 2002 have, after polling many members and receiving emails from members have set the dates for Labor Day weekend 2002. The place will be Grand Rapids Michigan. The Hotel will be the Hilton, located near the Kent County Airport and with high speed Internet. We will be signing contracts for room rates of $69 a night, with pool, exercise room, and whirlpool also.

Registration Information.

Friday night there will be a hospitality room with a cash bar and snacks. The evening will begin at 6pm with a small program, weekend handouts, name tags, and Introduction of the events and those involved as contacts for each event.  For detail on this event go to the Fri page.

We have kept track or attended both Fests and have decided to have a non refundable registration fee of $20 per family, couple, or individual. This will cover costs that have been laid at the feet of previous organizers, and they have had to pay out of their own pocket. Even if you can not attend, you may register, obtain a name tag, and your money will support the event or Fred's Page.

Cost that the registration fee covers are the name tags, awards for events, room charges for the hospitality room, parlor room for meetings and event planning, banquet room rental charges, deposits to hold rooms, rental of grounds and buildings for events. Any money left over will be donated to Fred for the expense of keeping the TDI server going. We will provide at the banquet a list of all expenses so that all members know what the fees were spent on.

The events that are being planned are a car show Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon we are planning a Tech Session with many different topics being covered. These events will be held in Stanton MI at the Mid Michigan Motorplex. Hondo, (Bob) is the contact person for these events. For detail on this event go to the Sat page.

Sunday morning will start  at the Hilton with a brunch and Technical session.   Then lead  into a Sunday afternoon lunch & MPG Rally stating from Gezon Motors VW dealership. The rally will be routed through central western MI  taking participants through some pristine areas. GeWilli (Geoff) is the contact person for these events. Sunday Evening will be the Banquet at the Hilton Inn. The information related to cost and attire for the banquet is now updated on the  Sun page.

As events are locked in and the contracts are signed, we are providing  updated information linked form this page. Any member who is interested in helping, please contact Hondo or Geoff  with the events planned.
